Day 17- Jan 23
Golf at Elephant Hills Golf Club where a local rule states "warthog damage may be treated as ground under repair" but "termites are not classed as burrowing animals". After lunch it was back to the falls. This time we walked over the bridge (bunji jumping ) into Zambia. Another country so immigration etc. A $10 American visa fee was asked for. Three of us only had one $50 bill between us so we asked for American change. That was not immediately available so we turned to go away but were called back and "stamped" OK, the fee to be extracted and change available upon the return thru the checkpoint. And so it was. The Zambia side of the river and falls is perhaps a little more scenic even that the Zimbabwe side. Hard to believe it could be better. After a long hard walk to the view points and back we were parched (water water everywhere) so found a supply of bottled water at the local curio stand. Again money problems with no Zambian $ and not wishing to take change in that currency. A deal was struck for the water and a taxi ride back to the border for one of our $100 Zimbabwe notes. (about $20 American). Back to the hotel and some rest before dinner at another Boma. Remember the Boma. Same deal except this was a public restaurant and crowded. Native dancers in addition to a very extensive buffet. Back to the "special" foods such as crocodile, more Kudu and worms. Not me - thanks much anyway
More pictures of the falls.
