Day 6 - Jan 12
The Royal Durban Golf Club today. Flat and uninteresting except for the location. Completely inside a race track. The huge grandstand on the north side and the track itself visible from most holes. Cannot imaging trying to play during a race meeting. My caddie had never caddied before. Tried to give him some instruction but the language barrier was too much to overcome and still try to play a decent game so gave up after several holes. He just followed me around like a faithful St.Bernard. Lunch and a mini bus tour came next. The tour included stops at another croc farm which was associated with a "made for tourist" Zulu Village. The "natives" put on a 20 minute show which depicted a courting ritual dance and related activities (no not that even though the girls were bare breasted) all of which was intended to extract some coins from our wallets. Durban is a major port and the harbor is vast. I believe it was said it is the 7th largest in the world. Back to Shortens, dinner and bed.
