The airport was next- Joburg and the waiting room there for 6 hours. We took turns watching bags and shopping. Finally the 747 was ready and I lucked out again with the window seat and ledge arrangement. Cape Verde, New York ,18 hours.

Day 20 - Jan26

The next day came at night.(doesn't sound right) someplace between SA and NY. Right through customs, but nobody to meet us. We were able to catch the Connecticut Limo which happened to be there and it got us back to New Haven. Turns out to have been the only hitch in a wonderful trip. Out to Guilford via David's secretary's van. Picked up the car which started up just fine. Stopped to see Mom -HOME!!!!!
